Danone’s venture arm leads a US$30 million investment round in Harmless Harvest

FRANCE – Danone Manifesto Ventures, venture arm of Danone has led a US$30 million investment round to secure a stake in Harmless Harvest, producer of Organic and Fair for Life Coconut Water, Coconut Probiotics, and Coffee Coconut Water in the US.

According to the company, the investment builds on its existing stake in Harmless Harvest which had secured the US$30million growth capital from Danone, Mouse Partners as well as other existing and new shareholders like AccelFoods.

Harmless Harvest makes delicious, organic and natural coconut water in response to a growing demand for natural and healthy products by consumers.

It was launched in 2009 with the goal of creating a positive impact to the world by adhering to strict standards for social accountability to lead the fast-growing premium coconut water category in the U.S.

The venture was intended to foster business growth, expanding and ensuring production capacity, strengthen on brand awareness and build on its distribution channel to ensure timely delivery of refrigerated premium coconut water to customers.

It’s competency in producing organic coconut water granted it the world’s first Fair-for-Life-certified Organic coconut water title.

In 2016, Harmless unveiled a new multi-step micro-filtration process that achieves the highest level of product safety and quality, while preserving optimal flavor, fragrance and nutrients of its coconut water.

The company has in no doubt taken a lead in innovation, marked by the launch of its newest product, a line of organic probiotic cultured coconut beverages called Harmless Coconut Probiotics.

These achievements combined with efforts to comply with FDA standards and requirements put the company at the helm of natural and healthy products.
