Ancient Nutrition gets US$103m funding in a bone broth protein scale up

USA – Ancient Nutrition, maker of bone broth and collagen has secured US$103 million in funding, an investment aimed at improving the company’s resources and growth.

Ancient Nutrition Bone Broth Protein is a natural, easily digestible PURE protein powder complete with 20 g of body-building, gut-friendly protein per serving, produced with no added salt, sugars, colors, preservatives or artificial ingredients.

The range targets healthy-conscious consumers, sensitive to dairy, grains, eggs, beef, nuts and legumes sine they are paleo friendly, free of common allergens and an ideal protein source.

The company aims to improve its paleo, collagen, and grass-fed supplement trends through a stable supply chain involving Whole Foods Market, Sprouts, speciality US retailers, and online, shipping directly to consumers.

Through these products, it seeks to deliver clean ingredients that fuel the body and mind, restoring us to the health, strength, and vitality, said the company.

According to Jon Marshall, vice president VMG Partners, a private equity firm that led the funding, the funding will deliver on a shared vision for the future of real food nutrition.

VMG, which has invested in companies including Kind, Quest, and Vega, specializes in backing branded-consumer products companies.

Ancient Nutrition was co-founded in 2016 by Axe and Jordan Rubin, who sold his previous nutritional health products company to Nestle for US$2.3 billion at the end of 2017.

This makes Ancient Nutrition stand out as a leader in the food movement, including protein, gut health, clean nutrition, and the paleo diet.
