Nestlé inaugurates new NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto in Vietnam to increase production

ASIA – Nestlé, a Swiss transnational food and drink company, has inaugurated a new NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto capsule production line in Dong Nai Province, Vietnam, expanding the Vietnamese facility production to 130m capsules per year.

According to the company, the NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto capsule production line uses raw materials from high quality Vietnamese coffee beans, providing premium coffee products for domestic consumption and export.

The use of indigenous beans in its NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto capsules underscores Nestlé’s efforts to enhance the value of Vietnamese coffee and agricultural produce from the country in general through the means of production, processing and export.

Introduced to Vietnam in October 2015, the NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto coffee machine and its premium coffee capsules has been a huge hit with Vietnamese consumers.

Therefore, the use of local coffee beans at the new production line will help satisfy domestic demand while enabling Vietnamese coffee lovers enjoy high quality at reasonable prices.

Nestle added that approximately 90% of the NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto output from the Dong Nai facility will be exported to other markets in Asia including Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Indonesia.

Nestlé is currently the leading coffee buyer in Vietnam with an annual purchase volume of 20-25% of total coffee production output in the nation.

The new production line is expected to process 2,500 tons of coffee per year (equivalent to 130 million capsules).

With NESCAFÉ instant coffee and decaffeinated coffee being processed at Nestlé factories in Vietnam, the NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto output from the Nestlé Tri An factory will up the volume of Vietnamese coffee passing through Nestlé production lines in the country – a great boost for the sector.

“The new NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto production line will help make great coffee widely accessible to Vietnamese consumers and to 13 export markets.

Moreover, the new production line reaffirms Nestlé Vietnam’s commitment to adding value to and developing this Vietnam’s coffee industry,” said Mr. Ganesan Ampalavanar, Managing Director of Nestlé Vietnam.
