EAST AFRICA– A new set of events with a focus on the food, beverage and milling industry in Africa have been unveiled, as the AFMASS series of events are set to expand to more countries in Africa from 2019.
The AFMASS FoodTech Conferences & Expos cover the latest trends in processing, packaging, food safety and nutrition and health, with a focus on the industry in Africa.
They will be the first technical conferences targeted at Tanzania and Rwanda’s food, beverage and milling industry.
The Conference sessions will cover the latest trends in processing, packaging, food safety and nutrition and health, with a focus on the industry in Tanzania and Rwanda, with the aim of building the capacity of the industry, government agencies, academia and other stakeholders in the two countries.
They are also aimed at providing unique networking platform while enabling the industry in the two countries to identify some of the most critical suppliers of equipment, packaging, food safety and related industry solutions.
A parallel exhibition floor, open to the industry stakeholders from across the industry, with suppliers of various technologies to the food, beverage and milling industry, will add an extra fizz to these events.
“As we continue to grow the AFMASS events in Africa, we have noticed that it is quite easy to forget some emerging, but critical, countries in Africa. This is the gap that AFMASS FoodTech Conferences & Expos will fill for us.
“These technical conferences, with a exhibition on the side, will add much needed technical and commercial knowledge mainly to the technical and operational managers in the industry in Tanzania, Rwanda and sorrounding countries.
“Investors and other stakeholders will also find appropriate solutions – including equipment, packaging, ingredients, food safety etc – to their current and future projects at these events,” says Francis Juma, the leader at the FoodWorld Media, the organisers of the event.
AFMASS FoodTech Conferences & Expos will be attended by top managers and investors; technical managers and professionals; Government regulators, academicians and researchers; NGO and development institution investors and suppliers to the industry in the specific countries and the region.
AFMASS FoodTech – Tanzania edition is planned for February 27-28, 2019 in Dar es Salaam in the commercial capital of Tanzania.
The event targets the food and agriculture industry stakeholders from Tanzania and Zanzibar, where the food, beverage and milling industry has gone through a major transformation, with major investments in agriculture and agribusiness, opening many opportunities in the milling, beverages, meat, dairy, fruits and veg, bakery, animal feed and other associated food industries.
AFMASS FoodTech – Rwanda edition will take place on July 11-12, 2019 in Kigali, Rwanda, with a focus on the industry in Rwanda and the Great Lakes Region of Africa, which includes Burundi, Uganda, DRC and South Sudan.
The food, beverage and milling industry in Rwanda and the Great Lakes Region is growing rapidly, with agriculture acting as the back bone to the growth of the dairy, milling, beverages, poultry, fruits and veg, bakery, animal feed and other associated food industries.
This event will tap into and support the growth of the food processing, packaging and handling industries in Rwanda and the region at large.
The event in Rwanda will be followed by the Africa Food Industry Excellence Awards ceremony, which will also take place in Kigali on July 12, 2019, providing a double serving of food industry events in the country over a short period of three days.
