Nigeria’s CWAY diversifies into alcoholic beverage, launches Cheers Cocktail

NIGERIA – CWAY Foods and Beverages Nigeria Limited, a renowned fruit-flavoured milk drinks and drinking water company has diversified its operations into the alcoholic Ready-to-drink (RTDs) with the launch of “Cheers Cocktail”, reports Beverage Industry.

Speaking during the commissioning of the factory, General Manager, Mr. Wang Bing said that the new premium brand has been well crafted to suit consumer needs.

“Cheers Cocktail” is a premium brand mixed with deep passion, dedication and with modern technology to produce a drink of class and that can be enjoyed by both adult male and female,” he said.

Cheers Cocktail comes in two flavours – Rose and Peach Cocktail – and is packaged in 350ml which contains 4.5% alcohol volume.

The product is made from Blue Rose flower and Peach fruit with a refreshing crisp taste with company targeting adults as they wind down after work or on a night out with friends in party and events.

CWAY said that the introduction of Cheers Cocktail marks an important milestone in the company and Nigeria Beverage Market the brand becomes the first ever locally produced alcoholic cocktail with natural flavor of Rose and Peach.

CWAY Foods and Beverages Nigeria Limited portfolio includes, Nutri-Milk, the CWAY bottled drinking, water dispensers,  Apple and Peach fruit drinks, Tigo Milk Drink, Super Kids Milk Drink  and the most recent Nutri-Yo – a drinking yoghurt launched in October last year.

The Chinese firm operates sixteen fully automated factories including its Nigeria, Kenya and Egypt plants and plans to expand its operation base to Cameroon, South Africa, Benin and Tanzania.

The company joins a growing list of companies in this growth segment such as Nigerian Breweries Plc with its roster of brands such as the Ace series, Star Radler, Strongbow and others and Guinness Nigeria Plc with its portfolio that includes Smirnoff Ice and its variants as well as Snapp Apple drink, Orijin, among others.
