EUROPE – Azelis, a leading global supplier of speciality chemicals and food ingredients has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire the Polish distributor of flavours, shelf life extenders, Euroconsultant Ltd.
The deal whose purchase price has not been revealed, involves 100% shares in Euroconsultant with all employees joining the Azelis team.
Euroconsultant is a supplier of the ingredients predominantly in the meat segment but has embarked on diversification into fish, cheese, dairy and poultry flavours.
With a mission to reduce the traditional smoking to a clean, safe and economical method using smoke condensates, the company builds on Azeli’s portfolio which also comprises of high levels of technical support and tailored solutions.
Joining such a well-established global player as Azelis will enable us not only to continue to deliver high quality products and service to our customers, but also to access new growth opportunities.

The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2019, enhancing Azeli’s capabilities in meat solutions in Poland, a country almost 40 million inhabitants with meat being a staple diet.
The company has a significant foothold in innovative ingredients for meat and fish processing across the regions it operates in.
Meat consumption in Poland is expected to stay high while more customers switch to the use of flavours compared to traditional smoking methods.

It opened an office in Jakarta in 2017, expanding presence in Indonesia.
In April this year, Azelis entered into a distribution partnership with CP Kelco to offer their carrageenan, pectin, gellan gum and xanthan gum products for the food segment in Indonesia.
