Tetra Pak to offer customized and flexible digital printing on cartons

SWITZERLAND –  Global food packaging leader, Tetra Pak has unveiled new digital printing technology that will offer customers with full-colour, customized and flexible digital printing on its carton packages.

This offers new possibilities for beverage manufacturers, benefiting from on-package printing and a variet y of designs that best suit their customers

The digital printing technology aims to simplify the complexity of design handling, reduce time from design to print and enhance flexibility as well as product customization.

Beverage brands can take advantage of added benefits like dynamic on-package printing and the ability to include a variety of designs within the same order, said Tetra Pak.

Tetra Pak, in collaboration with Koenig & Bauer, a Dutch printing press manufacturer has built a full-width digital printer to be installed at Tetra Pak’s converting plant at Denton, Texas.

Field testing of the new, digitally-printed carton packages is expected to begin in early 2020 with North American customers.

It has reiterated that creating products which are tailored to current consumer needs is a value-addition strategy that food and beverage manufacturers should adopt to win big.
