PepsiCo appoints Ram Krishnan as Chief Commercial Officer

USA – PepsiCo has appointed Ram Krishnan as new Chief Commercial Officer in charge of the food and beverage giant’s global operations.

Ram is currently Chief Executive Officer, Greater China for PepsiCo and will continue to lead the company’s Greater China sector at this point.

He succeeds replaces Laxman Narasimhan who is departing the company to become Chief Executive Officer of the Reckitt Benckiser Group.

Since joining PepsiCo in 2006, Ram has held successive roles at Frito-Lay, ultimately becoming the business’s Chief Marketing Officer in 2014.

In 2016, Krishnan was promoted to the role of North American Commercial General Manager and Senior Vice President, Walmart Customer Team where he contributed to strategic initiatives and customer relations.

He was appointed lead PepsiCo’s China business in 2017 and is hailed to have displayed an ability to quickly adapt to new cultures, developing locally tailored supply chains and go-to-market capabilities.

“Ram is a proven leader with deep consumer and customer understanding who also knows how to harness data to drive business growth,” said PepsiCo Chairman and CEO Ramon Laguarta.

“Ram understands the importance of competing locally, which has driven his ability to win in both Eastern and Western markets.

“He is just the kind of competitive, strategic leader we need as PepsiCo continues on our journey to accelerate growth.”

PepsiCo recently appointed Steven Williams as chief executive officer of PepsiCo Foods North America (PFNA), in charge of Frito-Lay North America (FLNA) and Quaker Foods North America (QFNA).

In March, the food and drinks conglomerate Paula Santilli as Chief Executive Officer, Latin America, reporting to PepsiCo Chairman and CEO Ramon Laguarta.

Ramon Laguarta, who was appointed CEO this year said: “We have benefited from Laxman’s strategic vision over the past seven years and are grateful for his many contributions to PepsiCo’s success.”
