Müller Yogurt & Desserts creates to new senior role to accelerate sales growth

UK – Müller Yogurt & Desserts has created two new senior roles to further accelerate progress in branded and private label sales to grocery, convenience and food service channels in the UK and Ireland.

The business has appointed Jonathan Piper to lead a customer centric sales team with overall responsibility for branded activity in the UK & Ireland. Jonathan joins Müller Yogurt & Desserts from Hovis where he is currently UK Sales Director.

Prior to his work with Hovis, Jon held a similar role at Kellogg’s and spent three years within Müller as Sales Director Ireland and Business Unit Head. Earlier in his career he held various sales roles with Coca-Cola European Partners and Mars Petcare.

In addition, the company has named David Hollins to the position of the newly created Commercial Director, Private Label & Food Service. David is currently the Private Label Business Unit Head at Müller Yogurt & Desserts.

David has almost three decades of experience working within dairy having spent 12 years with Lactalis and Lactalis Nestlé.

He joined Müller in 2012 and created the existing private label yogurt and dessert business, which completed a £50 m (US$64.66m) expansion earlier this year.

He will replace Bill Mathieson, the current Müller Yogurt & Desserts Commercial Director, who will be leaving the business in January to take a senior role outside the organisation.

Bergen Merey, Managing Director at Müller Yogurt & Desserts said:

“Müller is long established as the nation’s favourite yogurt brand and we’ve now completed a substantial investment in Telford to enable us to make an additional 500m pots of yogurt per annum, to meet the growing needs of the branded and private label yogurt sector.

“The creation of these two senior roles will align our commercial organisation with the rapidly changing needs of the markets we serve.

“We look forward to welcoming Jon and David to their new roles, and thank Bill for his significant contribution over the last six years.”
