NIGERIA – Managing Director of Nestle Nigeria Plc, Dharnesh Gordhon, says the current business environment in Nigeria requires an intense focus to maintain competitive edge in the market.
He said this at the launch of Maggi chicken cube by the company.
This, he noted necessitated the introduction of the Maggi Chicken cube as a brand extension of its Maggi range of seasoning.
The Nestle boss said the company, which is being guided by its strategic roadmap, has always considered how it could work better to deliver its promise to be the leader in nutrition, health and wellness.
He said the company has also been challenging its established norms, which he said was why the management of the company often has a rethink of its business models and find new ways to differentiate its products and provide value to its customers.
Gordhon said Nestle has a history of delivering on its promises regardless of the external environment, which he said was also due to the strength of the company’s brands; its consumer understanding and its program of continuous innovation and renovation of products to ensure they are the best products available in the market.
“A favourite in the Maggi portfolio, we have reformulated it to deliver our best-ever chicken seasoning, this launch will bring a renewed excitement to the category, to our retailers and for all consumers,” he said, stressing that in pursuit of nutrition, health and wellness and to further enhance its competitive edge, the company will continue to implement relevant innovation especially targeting the needs of low-income consumers most likely to suffer from micronutrient deficiencies.
