UK – Global ingredients provider Tate & Lyle PLC has promoted Nick Hampton to be its Chief Executive Officer of the company effective 1 April 2018.
Nick Hampton has served as Chief Financial Officer at the company since 2014.
He succeeds Javed Ahmed who is retiring from the company and its Board.
He has worked at PepsiCo in senior finance and operational roles, including being President West Europe and Senior Vice President Commercial Europe since 2013.

Gerry also commended Javed Ahmed for his exceptional eight-year leadership of Tate & Lyle.
He noted that Javed Ahmed has caused significant strategic, operational and organisational transformation of the company from a largely commodity business into the high quality global food ingredients business.
His skill, energy and commitment contributed to the strong position Tate and Lyle stands in the global business.
Javed Ahmed was involved in significant reshaping of the business into a much stronger and higher quality business, says the company.

Nick’s expertise in the industrial business combined with the company’s strong business portfolio may strengthen Tate and Lyle as a brand.
Joined the Board in September 2014 as Chief Financial Officer.
Nick started his career in 1989 with the management consultancy firm, Monitor, where he spent five years.
In 1994, Nick joined PepsiCo where he spent a number of years in strategy and planning roles in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
After a period serving in procurement and logistics, in 2002 he was appointed Vice President, Operations for Walkers Snack Foods.
In 2004, he was appointed Vice President Operations for PepsiCo UK and Ireland, and in 2005 added the role of Chief Financial Officer for the same area.
In 2008, he became Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Europe, a position he held until 2013 when he was appointed PepsiCo’s President West Europe Region and Senior Vice President Commercial, Europe.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Chemistry from St. John’s College, Oxford University.
