Nestle introduces organic Nescafé Gold premium instant coffee variant in UK

UK – Nestle has launched its first organic premium instant coffee offering, Nescafé Gold in the UK to delight consumers with healthy, nutritious and organic beverages.

The Nescafé Gold Organic will be available exclusively in Sainsbury’s and addresses the increasing consumer demand for organic products.

The new variant is made with 100% organic Arabica beans and delivers a smooth, fruity flavour with notes of sweet and sour citrus fruits.

It was developed through a process that aims to produce food and crops using natural substances and processes and primarily driven by consumer concerns for personal health and the environment.

According to Nestle, Nescafé Gold Organic displays the European organic logo, making it easy for customers to see it has passed the rigorous and strict rules covering its organic production.

“This is our first organic offering from Nescafé.

Demand for organic products continues to grow in Britain and remains a big factor for many consumers, particularly those interested in the environmental benefits of going organic.

I’m delighted to be able to share this premium innovation with the UK’s coffee drinkers,” said Neil Stephens who heads up Nescafé in the UK and Ireland.

Organic food production is a self-regulated industry with government oversight in some countries and Nestle is increasingly offering organic options across its global portfolio.

In September last year, Nestle acquired a majority stake in Terrafertil, a natural foods company and main global producer of goldenberries, tapping into the natural and organic market.

In addition to the Nature’s Heart and Essential Living Foods brands, the investment puts the company to be the leader in the plant-food based segment.

In June 2018, Nestle’s SMA® Nutrition entered organic category by launching baby milks- SMA® Organic Follow-on Milk and SMA® Organic Growing Up Milk in the UK.

The certified organic milks are suitable for babies over 6 months as part of a mixed diet.
