EUROPE – Cargill has launched a new range of premium filling fats in Europe to address the growing need for tasty and yet healthier and cleaner products for health-conscious consumers.
Called CremoFLEX, the new filling fats are suitable in applications such as filled biscuits and sandwich cookies, wafers, filled chocolates tablets and pralines.
According to Cargill, the new range will help bakery and confectionery producers in solving challenges such as clean label, nutritional profile and sustainability.
It offers the ability to develop indulgent products with lowered saturated fatty acid (SAFA) by comparison to conventional solutions, and provides clean label non-hydrogenated products, said Cargill.
CremoFLEX is available in three varieties, that is CremoFLEX S, CremoFLEX F and CremoFLEX L.
“The CremoFLEX product range helps to optimize production processes without negatively impacting the quality, taste and appearance of their products, at the same time maintaining the brand loyalty of their consumers,” said Stefan Lehner, senior key account manager for Cargill’s edible oils business in Europe.
“Think about mouthfeel and melting profile. This unique offering enables food manufacturers to achieve tasty yet healthier and cleaner products for mindful snackers, whilst also meeting European food regulatory standards.”
The range was developed by a team of food scientists from Cargill and can be tailored to meet individual customer processing and application needs.
To support this technology and provide customers with innovative solutions, Cargill said it is investing in the production facility in Hamburg, Germany.
In December 2017, the company launched low saturated fat, high oleic canola oil to meet customer demands- better taste, shelf life and fry life qualities.
The oil, marketed under the Clear Valley brand, was made from a hybrid canola that contained 4.5% or less of saturated fat, marking a reduction of 35% from previous canola generations.
Last October, Cargill launched NatureFresh Acti Heart, a healthy blended cooking oil in India, a healthy alternative to other cooking oils.
