NIGERIA – PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc, a subsidiary of Manchester based PZ Cussons Holdings has recorded a loss after tax of N1.1 billion (US$3m) in the first quarter of 2019, compared to a loss after tax of N204 million (US$564,000) recorded during the same period in 2018.  This represents a 435.49% decline. Namibia inaugurates Asparagus Processing Factory

NAMIBIA – The government of Nambia in partnership with Spanish company, Indusrias Alimentarias de Navarra has inaugurated its first asparagus processing factory in the country’s northern region of Omusati. Saudi food company Almarai secures US$100m funding to expand subsidiaries

SAUDI ARABIA – Almaria, the Gulf’s leading dairy company based in Saudi Arabia, has secured US$100 million funding from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to boost operations of its subsidiaries. USA – The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has launched a Food Safety Dashboard designed to track the impact of the seven foundational rules of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), measure the progress and inform refining of its implementation.
