Danone North America introduces new plant-based ready-to-drink lattes

USA – Danone North America is expanding its Silk brand into the ready-to-drink coffee market with the launch of two new dairy free lattes.

Danone has introduced the Silk Dairy-free espresso and mocha Lattes which blend almond milk and oat milk for a creamy, bold, balanced taste and a rich, full-bodied latte.

According to the company, both the espresso and mocha flavors blend high-quality, cold-brew Arabica coffee with rich espresso for a clean, sophisticated flavor.

The mocha latte mixes three different types of cocoa to ensure a delicious and balanced chocolate flavor, the company said.

“Skip the line, chatter and spotty Wi-Fi with Silk Lattes—the perfect way to savor a coffeehouse-quality latte from the comfort of your home,” said David Robinson, senior brand manager for Silk.

“Silk is excited to enter the coffee category with a dairy-free and hassle-free option that brings barista-quality coffee into your home, minus the upcharge.”

To reinforce the brand’s commitment to sustainability, Danone will launch the Silk lattes in a premium recyclable plant-based bottle, which the company said is made with at least 80% of renewable sugarcane.

In addition, the coffee in Silk almond & oat lattes is grown by UTZ Certified farmers. UTZ is a label and program for sustainable farming. Silk Lattes are also Non-GMO Project Verified.

The Silk ready-to-drink lattes are available for a suggested retail price of US$5.49 per 48-oz. bottle at retailers nationwide, including Target, Kroger, HEB and Fairway.

The ready-to-drink lattes will join the Danone Silk portfolio which has rapidly expanded n the recent past following this year’s lauch of DHA Omega-3 plant-based beverage, a new dairy-free half & half alternative and the Silk Dairy Free Heavy Whipping Cream.

The Silk brand offers a broad range of plant-based options, including soymilk, almond milk, cashew milk, coconut milk, oat milk, dairy-free coffee creamers, and dairy-free yogurt alternatives.
