USA – Dow, a solutions provider to the food processing industry, has introduced its latest innovation, Dowsil 8024 Food Contact Release Emulsion, a new generation waterborne silicone emulsion to enhance performance by food processors and suppliers.
Dow’s new silicone emulsion comes as a heat-resistant, odorless, non-staining and non-corrosive food contact release emulsion and further brings versatility to the food processing industry across a wide range of direct and indirect food contact applications.
Dow says that the solution can be used as a release agent for paper, plastic, and rubber food container parts, as a lubricant for food conveyor and transfer belt, as an anti-blocking agent for paper and plastic sheets, or as an additive in organic-based formulations.
According to the company, Dowsil 8024 Food Contact Release Emulsion provides a distinct set of performance attributes, including low use levels, high release and lubrication efficiency, low volatility.
Arturo Cuellar, the global market manager for performance chemicals at Dow Consumer Solutions remarks that the new solution seeks to bridge the gaps in the key trends that food processors are looking to address.
“The global food processing industry is looking for solutions that address three key market needs – flexibility to respond to evolving consumer trends, improved productivity, and safe operations,” Arturo highlights.
Arturo further adds that the food contact silicone emulsion addresses major global and regional regulations and certifications as it “adheres to major global and regional food contact regulations and certifications to keep operations efficient and customers safe.”
In fact, the company noted that the material meets “essentially all requirements of major regulations and certifications applicable to food contact materials worldwide.”
Touted as a versatile solution, the company saya that Dowsil 8024 Food Contact Release Emulsion can be diluted with water to adapt its properties to meet specific customer needs.
The solutions provider noted that it will present the specifics of this novel waterborne silicone emulsion and showcase its performance attributes in direct and indirect food contact applications during a dedicated webinar on Tuesday, June 30. Participants are invited to register online.
