USA – Anheuser-Busch America has announced a US$16 million investment in its Los Angeles brewery.
According to the company, the investment is aimed at enhancing packaging capabilities and increasing production capacity for its growing portfolio of ‘beyond beer’ brands, including Cutwater canned cocktails and NUTRL vodka seltzers.
This will also focus on expanding the production of 25-ounce cans to meet rising consumer demand and implementing facility upgrades to promote water conservation and reduce boiler emissions.
Brendan Whitworth, CEO of Anheuser-Busch, emphasized the company’s commitment to the communities it serves, stating, “Investing in the communities where our people live and work is part of who we are.
Through continued investments in our facilities like our Los Angeles brewery, we’re not only improving our capabilities but also contributing to the prosperity of the communities we serve.”
This investment is part of Anheuser-Busch’s broader strategy of capital investment in California, which totals approximately US$2.6 billion to date.
The enhancements at the Los Angeles facility are designed to support economic growth and job creation in the state, where the company employs over 3,400 people across 14 facilities.
With more than 120 facilities nationwide and a workforce of 65,000, Anheuser-Busch and its distributors significantly impact the U.S. economy.
Over the past five years, the company has invested nearly US$2 billion into its U.S. operations, further underscoring its dedication to job creation and community prosperity.
This latest investment follows recent improvements at other Anheuser-Busch facilities, including US$6.5 million in its Williamsburg brewery in Virginia and US$7 million in its Fairfield brewery in California.
Additionally, the company invested US$15.5 million to upgrade bottling lines in its Fort Collins, Colorado brewery.
As part of its strategic direction, Anheuser-Busch is also strengthening its position in the alcohol-free beer segment.
The company has launched Michelob ULTRA Zero, a new alcohol-free brew designed to meet consumer demand for healthier beverage options, containing only 29 calories per serving with 0% alcohol by volume.
