ADM Animal Nutrition names new vice president of Pet Nutrition

USA – ADM Animal Nutrition, a division of Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM), has appointed Amy McCarthy as the new vice president, Pet Nutrition.

In this role, McCarthy will drive the pet nutrition strategy and work to expand ADM’s product offerings in ingredients, premixes, pet foods and pet treats as well as continue to bolster ADM’s product development capabilities.

“Amy is an experienced leader in the pet food space, and we are pleased to have her join our team,” said Ryan Lane, president of ADM Animal Nutrition, North America.

“With an eye towards strategic business growth, we welcome Amy’s expertise and dedication to being customer-focused.”

McCarthy joins ADM Animal Nutrition with nearly two decades of experience working in the animal health and nutrition field. She is an alumna of Louisiana State University, where she earned her Ph.D. in animal nutrition.

ADM is a global leader in animal nutrition, providing amino acids, additives, ingredients, tailor-made premix formulations and complete feed for the production animal, aquaculture and companion animal markets.

With more than 110 production facilities around the world, and unmatched research and development capabilities, ADM Animal Nutrition provides innovative individualized solutions to support customer growth.

In the animal health and nutrition space, the company has made a series of expansions and investments in recent years, including building and renovating three specialty animal nutrition plants in China and four plants in the US.

Chicago-based ADM took over Neovia for 1.54 billion euros (US$1.73 billion) this year as part of the US farm giant’s strategy to expand in the fast-growing animal nutrition sector.

ADM has also acquiried pet treat manufacturer Crosswind Industries, expanded pet food ingredient manufacturing capabilities in North America as well as investing in state-of-the-art value added complete feed manufacturing facilities in the same market.

The company has also entered into a partnership with China-based Qingdao Vland Biotech Group and building a cutting-edge research lab in California to develop and commercialize animal feed enzymes; and

The company also counts of Protexin, a leading provider of probiotic supplements for human wellness as well as a variety of animal markets, including aquaculture, equine, livestock and companion animals under its brands.
