USA – The Archer Daniels Midland Company has named Samson Li as new president for its Animal Nutrition Division in the US.

Li is said to have made significant contribution in the Asian business unit by leading the company’s expansion in the Asian animal and fish feed markets.

He worked as managing director of the Asian business unit and as a member of the Executive Committee for Nutreco.

With a bachelor’s degree in chemistry with a minor in economics and an MBA from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Li worked at Novus International as vice president, sales and marketing before joining the food and feed business.

Chris Cuddy, president of ADM’s Corn Processing business commenting on the matter said that they were pleased with Li’s appointment to the board as he will play a key role in animal nutrition to drive ADM’s growth agenda.

ADM has invested to improve their North American production facilities; expand our footprint in Asia; and move into the pet treats and aquaculture feed industries.

“I look forward to working with Samson as we capitalize on our expanding product portfolio of feed additives, supplements, premixes, custom ingredient blends and specialty feed ingredients; our increasing global footprint; and our growing destination marketing capabilities to become the partner of choice for animal feed and pet food customers,” said Chris.

ADM seeks to be a leading provider of a wide range of innovative products for the animal nutrition market for specialty ingredients, feed, premixes and blending.

The division has taken a keen interest not only aquaculture, but also swine, poultry and dairy nutrition industry especially in Canada.

ADM and Vland entered a joint development agreement for the development and commercialization of enzymes for animal feed applications to add to ADM’s research center in Decatur, Illinois.

Samson Li will work together with the recently appointed team of research and sales professionals as ADM looks forward to growing the industry and satisfy their customers.
