KENYA –  The 2018 edition of the Africa Food Industry Excellence Awards – Africa’s most prestigious food, beverage and milling industry awards –  has finally arrived.

Hon. Peter Munya, who is the Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Trade & Co-operatives in Kenya will be the Chief Guest at the Awards ceremony.

During the event, winners of the individual honorary awards and the contestants for the competitive categories at the Africa Food Industry Excellence Awards 2018 will receive various awards as pertaining to their categories.

“This year’s Awards ceremony is set to be entirely different from the first one we hosted last year. The interest and response has been, to say the least, very humbling to us as the organisers.

We realise that the industry has been waiting for this kind of initiative for a long time,” says Francis Juma of FoodWorld Media, the organisers of the Awards ceremony.

Now in its second year, the Africa Food Industry Excellence Awards seeks to recognize the most outstanding innovations and excellence in Africa’s food, beverage and milling industry.

The Awards ceremony is planned for September 14, 2018 at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya from 14.00 hours till late.

“We expect a full house at the Awards ceremony, which will be one of the most important networking platforms this year for all the industry stakeholders in the region.

We expect Hon. Peter Munya, Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Trade & Co-operatives in Kenya as the Chief Guest to join the industry and other stakeholders in an evening of fun and celebration that will not be forgotten for a long time,” says Juma.

Preceding the Awards ceremony proper will be a number of panel discussions where the finalist companies in the various categories:- Kevin Ashley, Founder, Java Restaurants, Said Salim Bakhresa, Founder & Chairman, Bakhresa Group, Khalid Mohammed, Founder & Group Chairman, Trade Kings Group among others will discuss some of the market trends, opportunities and challenges they face in their path to excellence.

At the function, industry peers, Government officials and NGO/development organisation managers will come together to celebrate the most outstanding people; new projects and products; and unique sustainability and training initiatives in the region.
