NIGERIA – With the unveiling of 20 different beverages and reliable distribution channels, the management of Afrobeverages and Distillers Limited is confident of getting a substantial share in the Nigeria market.

The company also said it hopes to use innovation and affordability to win loyalties from many Nigerian consumers.

Speaking at the launch of the products in Lagos recently, the Chief Operating Officer of the company, Mr. Reuben Onwubiko said its marketing cutting edge would be to provide affordable liquid in affordable pack sizes.

He said that the company is offering chapman and its other brands in can to provide not just affordability but also ease of consumption.

“Our aim is to democratise the consumption of quality beverage drinks through the introduction of diverse affordable smart drinks. We are bringing beverage innovations for the convenience of Nigerians. We have removed the difficult rituals and bottlenecks that make consumption of Wines and Chapman difficult for people.”

According to Onwubiko, the company started as an importer of beverage products in 2002 but in 2014 the company decided to start the local production of these imported brands in partnership with South-West Distilleries, South Africa with the building of an ultra-modern manufacturing site in Aba, Abia state, thereby creating massive job opportunities for Nigerian youths.

He therefore called on Nigerian companies engaging in importation to device means of producing locally so that it would help create jobs for the teaming unemployed youths in the country.

Onwubiko also claimed that it was a product of share patrotism that made him go into manufacturing instead of just importing.

To ensure that its products are available to consumers no matter where they are in any part of the country, Afrobeverages signed an MOU with Chellarams Plc for distribution of its brands in the country.

Onwubiko said that it was strategic because availability of the product is critical to meeting the needs of the consumers. He also said that the choice of the company for the distribution of the products is deliberate because of the distribution competence of the company.

“This partnership is focused on making all products available on shelves for Nigerians to have access to, across Nigeria. Chellarams Plc is a trading and distribution business for over 90 years in Nigeria.

It has well-trained, highly capable, committed professionals, organised personnel segmented into efficient departments and supported with clear ethical guidelines and stringent operating procedures.
