UK – Carr’s, an agriculture and engineering group, has announced the appointment of Hugh Pelham as the new Chief Executive Officer succeeding Tim Davies following a search process led by the Nomination Committee.

Hugh will join Carr’s as Chief Executive Officer Designate and as a member of the Board on 4 January 2021 and will formally succeed Tim at the conclusion of the Group’s next Annual General Meeting, currently expected to take place on 12 January 2021.

Tim will step down from the Board at the AGM but remain with the Group during a short handover period to ensure a smooth transition.

Hugh brings over 30 years’ experience in leading growing businesses across various sectors. He is currently Global President at Minova, part of ASX-listed Orica, which is a manufacturer and supplier of chemical and mechanical earth control products, adhesives and support equipment. Minova has revenues of A$600m, generated from 40 countries globally.

Prior to this, Hugh spent four years as Managing Director of Wood Group Industrial Services Limited, a provider of specialist coatings, access and fabric maintenance services to the oil & gas, marine and rail industries. He also served as President (EMEA) of Wood Group Industrial Services, being responsible for international growth and leading a team of over 2,000 people.

Hugh has a strong track record of generating value through the achievement of both long-term profitable growth and successful business turnarounds. He holds a BA in Engineering, Economics and Management from Oxford University and an MBA from Cranfield School of Management.

There is no further information concerning the appointment of Hugh Pelham which requires disclosure under Listing Rule 9.6.13.

Carr’s is an international leader in manufacturing value added products and solutions, with market leading brands and robust market positions in Agriculture and Engineering, supplying customers in over 50 countries around the world.

Its Agriculture division manufactures and supplies feed blocks and supplementation products for livestock, distributes farm machinery and runs a UK network of rural stores, providing a one-stop shop for the farming community.

Its Engineering division designs and manufactures bespoke equipment and provides technical engineering services into the nuclear, petrochemical, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, process and renewable energy industries, including robotic and remote handling equipment.
