UAE – Al Islami Foods, a UAE-based company specializing in halal poultry and meat products, is introducing a new range of Extra Large Shrimps to the market.
The product line includes three varieties of wild-caught shrimp, which the company says are free from antibiotics and added hormones.
Al Islami Foods states that the shrimp are sourced from clean waters and frozen immediately to retain their nutritional value.
The company highlights that the new seafood products are suitable for consumers following keto and high-protein diets.
According to Al Islami Foods, the Extra Large Shrimps are versatile and can be used in various dishes, including grilled meals, curries, and salads.
A spokesperson from the company said that consumer demand for minimally processed and natural food options has been increasing.
According to recent data, the UAE consumes around 18,700 metric tonnes of shrimp annually, with projections showing this number could rise to nearly 23,000 tonnes by 2029.
Notably, the majority of this shrimp is imported, with domestic production only accounting for a small percentage (around 1.6%) of total demand.
They added that the new shrimp products are intended to meet this demand by offering a seafood option that remains as close to its natural state as possible.
Al Islami Foods confirms that the Extra Large Shrimps will be available in major retail outlets across the UAE.
The company, which has been in the halal food industry for 50 years, has built a presence in international markets.
Al Islami Foods was named among the top five halal product companies within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in 2023.
The brand also received the iHalal Brand of the Year award in 2021.
