INDIA – Alapala, a leading machinery producer and turnkey solution provider in grain milling industry, has successfully completed renovation works at the Kodandaram Flour Mill facility in India.
Kodandaram Flour Mills is part of Parisons Group, one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of wheat flour and edible oils in South India.
The Group has 6 flour mills having a total of over 800 tonnes per day (TPD) capacity along with 2 edible oil refining and extraction plants with 450 TPD total processing capacity.
During renovation at the Kodandaram facility, Alapala replaced the complete equipment in the milling section with new generation Alapala machinery including Similago II Roller Mills, Aurora 828 Jumbo Plansifters, and Arion Purifiers among other machinery.
The electrical installation of the complete plant was also modified for the adaptation of existing machinery to the new plant automation system.
The scope of the renovation work also included process engineering service by Alapala which will enable the facility’s 180 TPD wheat processing capacity to produce high quality atta, maida, and sooji flour in ‘Chakra’ brand.
Earlier this month, Alapala opened a new office in Kenya as part of its global expansion and is aimed to better serve its local customers.
This expands its already huge network that is comprised of over 650 turnkey references in 4 continents and over 120 countries worldwide.
The company notes that modernization of mills is an important step to gain cost, efficiency, and productivity advantages.
To this end, it offers a wide range of modernization services, including the redesigning of milling diagrams and flow sheets, replacement of existing equipment for better performance and improved efficiency, and integration of new solutions and technologies.
According to World Grain, Alapala has delivered 11 projects among 54 projects in the pipeline in Europe, Africa, Asia, Canada and the Middle East.
Currently, it is working on a total of 34 ongoing turnkey projects, including flour mills, maize mills and semolina mills in addition to these ongoing projects, there are four modernization projects, five turnkey feed mills and one rice mill project.
In India, Alapala sales and after sales- services operations is provided in partnership Satake India Engineering Pvt Ltd., with a wide distribution network all over India.
