Amcor introduces a recyclable paper stand-up pouch for dry beverages, expands sustainable packaging efforts, and secures key industry recognition.
AUSTRALIA – Amcor has launched the AmFiber Performance Paper stand-up pouch, a paper-based refill pack designed for instant coffee and dry beverage products.
The latest addition to Amcor’s AmFiber Performance Paper portfolio is a recycle-ready packaging solution aimed at supporting brands in reducing environmental impact while maintaining high-performance packaging standards.
The company claims that the new pouch offers excellent seal integrity and barrier properties, ensuring product protection and freshness. It has also received recyclability certification from CEPI and Aticelca, reinforcing its eco-friendly credentials.
According to Amcor, the recycle-ready structure allows brands to lower extended producer responsibility (EPR) fees while responding to growing consumer demand for sustainable refill packaging.
The stand-up pouch features a durable bottom gusset and a lightweight, compact design, making it compatible with existing coffee brand packaging machinery.
Giorgio Dini, marketing manager for coffee at Amcor, highlighted the product’s appeal to brands seeking sustainable alternatives.
“This newest addition to the AmFiber family offers coffee and dry beverage brands a more attractive packaging solution that has a natural, paper-based appeal and is recycle-ready. Helping to advance more circular refill packaging, we are proud to announce the AmFiber Performance Paper stand-up pouch, as we continue to innovate in paper-based solutions,” he said.
Amcor’s efforts in sustainable packaging were recently recognized at the Flexible Packaging Association (FPA) 2025 Annual Meeting in Aventura, Florida, where the company won two Silver Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards in the Sustainability category.
Brian Carvill, vice president of research and development at Amcor Flexibles North America, emphasized the company’s commitment to advancing sustainable packaging.
“We are honored to be recognized by the FPA for innovations that are making a difference for our customers and the environment.”
2oz retort bottle
Beyond paper-based innovations, Amcor recently introduced a 2oz retort bottle featuring proprietary StormPanel technology.
Designed to withstand high-pressure retort sterilization, this bottle ensures product integrity and extends shelf life up to 12 months without refrigeration, offering brands a reliable solution for shelf-stable products.
Additionally, the company has secured antitrust clearance in the U.S. for its proposed US$8.4 billion merger with Berry Global Group.
The successful conclusion of the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976 marks a significant step toward completing the merger, which is expected to strengthen Amcor’s position in the flexible packaging industry.
