NIGERIA – Amo Farm Sieberer Hatchery Ltd. is increasing its agricultural investments with the acquisition of 1,800 acres of poultry and beef production farmland in Maya, Ibarapa Local Government, Oyo State.
The land, purchased from UAC of Nigeria PLC, will be used for large-scale poultry and beef production, seed multiplication, feed manufacturing, and farmer training.
The deal, finalized on March 4, 2025, is aimed at improving food production and supporting economic activities in the region.
At the official announcement, the company’s Group Managing Director, Dr. Ayoola Oduntan, said the expansion is part of a long-term goal to develop an agricultural system that integrates modern infrastructure and high-yield production.
Representing UAC of Nigeria PLC, Mr. Obinna Ede emphasized the importance of engaging the local community in agricultural projects, expressing optimism about the impact of Amo Farm’s expansion.

The announcement follows the recent commissioning of a Noiler hatchery in Awe, Oyo State, designed to produce over 2.5 million day-old chicks every month.
The facility will supply Noiler chickens, a dual-purpose breed used for meat and egg production, making poultry farming more accessible to smallholder farmers.
Speaking at the launch, Managing Director Dr. Anand Burra said the hatchery will provide high-quality chicks to help farmers improve productivity and earnings.
Group Managing Director Dr. Ayoola Oduntan stressed that strict quality standards must be maintained to ensure the reliability of every chick produced.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Dr. Oduntan marked the opening, after which guests toured the facility to observe the equipment and production process.
Several senior executives from Amo Farm attended, including General Manager Dr. Sunil, Director of Supply Chain Mr. Emmanuel Oloruntoba, Head of Internal Audit Mr. Olusegun Akande, and HR Business Partner Mr. Victor Alabi.
The new facility is expected to strengthen Nigeria’s poultry industry, improve nutrition, and expand opportunities for farmers.
