Anova unveils new reusable silicone bags to promote eco-friendly sous vide cooking

US – Leading provider of sous vide devices  has launched the Anova Precision® Reusable Silicone bags for sous vide cooking in an effort to make the novel way of cooking more environmental friendly.

Sous vide, which means “under vacuum” in French, refers to the process of vacuum-sealing food in a bag, then cooking it to a very precise temperature in a water bath.

This technique is reported to produces results that are impossible to achieve through any other cooking method.

The BPA-free bag provides an airtight seal that allows the consumer to easily remove air from the bag by hand and roll the top to close.

The company says that its Anova Precision Reusable Silicone bag is perfect for sous vide cooking, including multi-day cooks, and storage of leftovers.

Additionally, The half-gallon bag can withstand temperatures from -40 degrees Fahrenheit up to 446 degrees Fahrenheit, and is dishwasher safe – meaning it can be used over and over again.

With the new bag that is an alternative to single-use plastic, Anova says that consumers can continue to make their favorite sous vide meals, without the worry of negatively impacting the environment.

The eco-friendly bag is in line with the company’s  goal is to have a fully recyclable or compostable vacuum sealer bag available by 2022
