Archer Daniels Midland Company expands its office space in Johannesburg

The new expansion underscores ADM’s commitment to grow and innovate in Africa.

SOUTH AFRICA – Chicago-based Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) Company has launched its new expanded office space in Johannesburg, South Africa.

According to the company, the newly expanded facility will provide additional space for ADM’s Human and Animal Nutrition teams and empower them to continue delivering exceptional flavours for the beverage market, food, and savoury applications.

Additionally, the facility will enable the Animal Nutrition business to continue offering a variety of raw materials and ingredients for the ruminant, swine, pet food, and aquaculture markets.

Speaking at the launch, Mark Kropp, President of Animal Nutrition EMEA and Regional President Africa, said, “I am proud to open this office and celebrate the milestone. As our activities continue to grow, the need for additional space has become essential to support our expanding operation.”

Warren de Souza, General Manager of ADM South Africa, expressed his enthusiasm about the team’s continued expansion in the African market and congratulated the entire team on achieving this significant milestone.

ADM expands with new facility in Nigeria

Recently, the company officially opened a new facility at the Lagos Free Trade Zone (LFZ), Nigeria.

The expansion marks a significant milestone in ADM’s strategy to strengthen its African presence and enhance its ability to serve customers and partners in the region.

The new facility will serve as a hub for innovation and collaboration, leveraging LFZ’s strategic location, advanced infrastructure, and business-friendly environment.

“The Lagos Free Trade Zone offers a unique opportunity for businesses to thrive, with its strategic location, world-class infrastructure, and favorable business environment. ADM’s facility is designed to take full advantage of these benefits, providing a hub for innovation, collaboration, and growth with next-generation thinking,” said Segun Oyinloye, Marketing Communications Manager at ADM.

ADM is a key player in Nigeria’s animal nutrition premix market. The company operates a manufacturing plant in Lagos and distributes premixes through a network of three distribution centers. It also supplies additives and ingredients to animal feed customers.

ADM’s expansion in Nigeria aligns with its broader strategy to deepen its footprint in Africa. In September 2024, the company inaugurated a new office and advanced laboratories in Nairobi, Kenya, designed to drive innovation in food and beverage applications as well as animal nutrition.

These laboratories focus on research and development, offering tailored solutions for local markets, including beverages, alternative proteins, and animal feed.
