SWEDEN- Atlas Copco, a leading Swedish multinational industrial equipment supplier, has acquired the operating assets of the compressor business of Mesa Equipment & Supply Company (Mesa).

Mesa, which is based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in the United States will have 19 of its workers joining Atlas Copco.

In addition to selling oil-free and oil-injected compressors, the business also provides parts and services to a variety of clientele.

The purchase price is not disclosed, and Mesa will become part of the Service Division within the Compressor Technique Business Area.

“Mesa has built a strong sales and service presence in the area,” said Vagner Rego, Business Area President of Compressor Technique.

“This acquisition is in line with our strategy to grow our geographic coverage and get closer to our customers, and also brings increased service opportunities.”

Atlas Copco, which has recently been in an acquisition frenzy, has grown its market share in both the gas and compressed air industries through recent purchases.

Last month, the corporation acquired Oxymat, a privately held business that has production facilities in Denmark as well as Slovakia.

Oxymat specializes in on-site gas generating systems for a wide range of industries, including aquaculture, water treatment, medical, maritime, and mining.

DF-Druckluft-Fachhandel GmbH, a German online platform and service provider for compressed air solutions is also set to become part of Atlas Copco following a recent acquisition deal.

The business has also recently wrapped up the acquisition of Singapore’s Bireme Group, a leader in the compression of air and gas.

The firm revealed in August that it had successfully acquired Geveke, an Amsterdam-based distributor of compressors and component systems.

It had also reached an agreement to buy Montana Instruments Corporation, a provider of cryostat services.

The business has also recently wrapped up the acquisition of Singapore’s Bireme Group, a leader in the compression of air and gas.

Bireme Group specializes in treating compressed air and gas for a variety of sectors, including hospitals, food & beverage, electronics, and pharmaceuticals. It employs 20 people and has a service center in Malaysia.

“Bireme’s expertise, technical know-how and geographical coverage makes it a good fit for us,” said Vagner Rego, Business Area President Compressor Technique.
