He will succeed Vagner Rego, who is set to take on the position of President and CEO for the Group.
“Philippe has broad experience, excellent technical competence and is an appreciated leader. He also has a strong record of delivering business results,” said Mats Rahmström, President & CEO of the Atlas Copco Group.
Ernens joined the company as a product engineer in the Airtec division of the Compressor Technique business area in 1995. Over the years, he held various positions, including team leader, engineering manager, General Manager, and Vice President Operations High Pressure.
In 2012, he assumed the role of President of the Airtec division, and in 2016, he became President of the Oil-free Air division.

In the fourth quarter, Atlas Copco reported a 12 percent increase in net revenue, with organic growth reaching 10 percent. While overall demand for the Group’s equipment and services remained stable compared to the previous year, it showed a slight decrease compared to the third quarter.
Commenting on the financial performance, Rahmström expressed pride in achieving record-level revenues in the fourth quarter and the best results for the full year.
Rahmström said, “Our strategy to complement organic growth with acquisitions to increase our presence in segments and markets where we see long-term potential has been successful. I also want to put focus on our employees in all parts of the organization and recognize their focus and efforts on creating value for our customers.”
In a recent acquisition move, Atlas Copco acquired Ace Air (NI) Ltd, a privately owned company specializing in the sales, installation, and service of compressed air systems.
Founded in 2011 and located in Northern Ireland near Belfast, Ace Air serves industrial and service companies in the local area.
Vagner Rego, Business Area President Compressor Technique, highlighted that this acquisition would further develop the reach of their products through the brand ALUP Kompressoren
