SWEDEN – ESA Service S.r.l., an Italian company specializing in leak detection and gas recovery systems, is set to become part of the Atlas Copco Group.

Based in Treviglio, Italy, ESA Service operates as a privately owned business and employs 40 staff members.

In 2023, the company generated revenues of 118 MSEK (US$11.3M)

“ESA Service, established in 1980 by its current owners, has experienced significant growth by catering to a broad spectrum of industrial clients,” said Geert Follens, Business Area President of Vacuum Technique at Atlas Copco.

The purchase price for the deal remains undisclosed, and the acquisition is expected to be finalized in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Upon completion, ESA Service will be incorporated into Atlas Copco’s Scientific Vacuum division under the Vacuum Technique Business Area.

This move comes as Atlas Copco continues expanding its global presence, including another recent acquisition of Perslucht Wilda B.V., a Dutch distributor of compressors based in Woudenberg, Netherlands.

Founded in 1979, Perslucht Wilda specializes in portable air compressors, generators, light towers, and small electric compressors.

Similar to the ESA Service acquisition, financial details of the Perslucht Wilda deal have not been disclosed.

The transaction is expected to close by the fourth quarter of 2024, after which Perslucht Wilda will become part of Atlas Copco’s service division in the Power Technique Business Area.

Atlas Copco, which also provides vacuum packaging solutions for industries such as meat processing, reported strong financial results in the first quarter of the year.

The company exceeded expectations with a high volume of orders and increased profitability.

For the first quarter, the company reported an 8 percent increase in revenues, reaching SEK 42,875 million (US$3.92 million), with organic growth accounting for 7 percent.
