CANADA – Leading chemicals and ingredients supplier, Azelis has announced that it has acquired 100% shareholding in Canadian distributor of specialty chemicals and food ingredients, Chemroy for an undisclosed amount.
Azelis said that the transaction will position it as one of the leading ingredients and chemicals distributor in Canada, with a strong presence in chemicals, food, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and personal care segments.
Chemroy complements Azelis portfolio and strengthens its global leadership in speciality chemicals and food ingredients.
Founded in 1967, Chemroy Canada, Inc. distributes specialty chemical and food ingredients and offers chemicals, ingredients, and lab-related equipment.
The company offers warehousing across Canada and has further offices in Laval, Quebec and Vancouver, British Colombia and employs 59 people.

The acquisition strengthens Azelis’ presence in Canada where it operates a production facility and GMP warehouse located in Brampton, Ontario.
The company has a strong position in the CASE (coatings, adhesives, construction and ink) category, Rubber & Plastic Additives, Personal Care and Pharma as well as food and health industries.

This month, Azelis acquired distribution activities of MK Ingredients & Specialties and SSD Industries to strengthen its position in the Indian food segment.
It also agreed to acquire the Polish distributor of flavours, shelf life extenders, Euroconsultant Ltd earlier this year.
