BASF Ukraine relocates to a new office in Kyiv

UKRAINE – BASF Ukraine has successfully moved its operations to a new office located in the Mag.nett Business Center in Kyiv.

The office, situated in a LEED Gold-certified building, features advanced engineering systems that are fully automated and aligned with sustainability goals.

The space is designed to support teamwork and innovation, including areas like a lounge for relaxation, a café-style kitchen, and multi-purpose rooms with flexible layouts.

Acoustic panels have been installed throughout the office to enhance the environment by reducing noise and adding vibrant colors.

The project’s completion, despite the challenging circumstances, was made possible through collaborative efforts with the landlord, creative input from MEYT, and project management by CBRE Ukraine.

Meanwhile, in November 2024, BASF announced the expansion of its catalyst production capabilities by investing in X3D® technology at its Ludwigshafen site in Germany.

The facility, set to begin operations in 2026, will incorporate additive manufacturing and 3D printing techniques to produce high-performance catalysts.

These catalysts are tailored to reduce reactor pressure drops, improve production capacity, and lower carbon emissions, with designs that can meet specific customer requirements.

BASF highlighted several advantages of the X3D® technology, including increased geometric surface area, faster prototyping, reduced bulk density, and enhanced mechanical stability.

The same month, BASF revealed a partnership with Canada-based Exterra Carbon Solutions to develop a commercial-scale carbon capture and storage project in Quebec.

This initiative combines BASF’s OASE blue gas treatment technology with Exterra’s mineralization process to address carbon dioxide emissions in industries like cement, steel, and waste-to-energy.

In its financial results for the third quarter of 2024, BASF reported an increase of US$100.1 million in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) before special items, reaching US$2.08 billion.
