ISRAEL -Believer Meats, a global player in the cultivated meat industry, has announced strategic additions to its executive leadership team in preparation for the next phase of commercialization.

The three key appointments include Heather Hudson as Chief Product & Growth Officer, Frida Grynspan as Chief Science Officer, and Marc Shelley as Chief Legal Officer.

Gustavo Burger, CEO of Believer Meats, expressed optimism about the new appointments, stating that Believer Meats is at an exciting inflection point as the company enter a new phase of  commercialization in 2024.

He highlighted the unique combination of scientific expertise and food industry experience that Heather, Frida, and Marc bring to the leadership team, positioning the company uniquely within the food tech and nutrition landscape.

“Heather Hudson, with over two decades of experience in Fortune 500 companies and startups within the food, food-tech, and ag-tech sectors, assumes the role of Chief Product & Growth Officer.”

Based in North Carolina, near Believer Meats’ upcoming commercial-scale facility, Hudson’s background in nutrition, food science, and business uniquely positions her to lead the company’s growth agenda, particularly in product development.

Dr. Frida Grynspan, appointed as Chief Science Officer, brings over two decades of experience in biotech and life sciences.

Her diverse background in academia, research, and the private sector, including leadership roles at Lonza’s Collaborative Innovation Center in Haifa, Israel, underscores her valuable contributions to advancing scientific innovation in cultivated meat technology.

Marc Shelley, joining as Chief Legal Officer, has a wealth of experience from Anheuser-Busch InBev and Shook, Hardy & Bacon.

His expertise in litigation, intellectual property, employment law, and crisis management will be instrumental in overseeing legal, regulatory, IP, and corporate affairs, ensuring robust corporate governance.

The company is currently constructing the world’s largest cultivated meat production facility in Wilson, N.C., expected to be operational in 2024. The expansion of the leadership team signifies Believer Meats’ strategic approach as it gears up for product launch and significant scaling in the coming year.
