NETHERLANDS – Nutreco has named David Blakemore chief executive officer of Trouw Nutrition, the company’s livestock feed business, effective Jan. 1, 2023, the company said.

“I’m delighted that David will be joining Nutreco to lead and develop the Trouw Nutrition business,” said Fulco van Lede, CEO of Nutreco.

“David has a wealth of experience in our industry that will not only be of great benefit to Trouw Nutrition but also to the entire company in his role as a management board member.”

Blakemore was previously president of Animal Nutrition & Health of Netherlands-based DSM and a member of the DSM Nutritional Products executive leadership team, as well as a member of the DSM leadership team.

 Before DSM, Blakemore worked at The Dow Chemical Co., predominantly in the Agro Sciences and has global experience having held senior leadership positions in multiple geographies, living and working in the United States, New Zealand, Latin America and Switzerland.

Jim Doyle takes charge at King Milling

Meanwhile, a change of guard is taking place at Michigan-based family-owned wheat flour milling company, King Milling, with Jim Doyle taking over the reins of the company as President.

Both Jim Doyle and Brian Doyle are fourth-generation members of the Doyle family involved in King Milling and are grandsons of William Doyle, who led the business in the 1940s.

His predecessor Brian Doyle, who turned 65 earlier this year, will become chairman of King Milling in addition to his role as chairman of the North American Millers’ Association.

In other promotions announced by King Milling, Patrick Doyle has been named executive vice president of the company and Regan Doyle has been promoted to vice president of operations.

Jim Doyle was first employed at the mill when he was 15 years old, rising through the ranks to become executive vice president, a title he has held for the past three years.

He has a degree in business from from Michigan State University, East Lansing and has also completed a three-week IAOM/Kansas State University milling short course.

In addition to his work at King Milling, Jim Doyle is currently is the only non-grower who sits on the Michigan Wheat Promotion Committee, an appointment by Michigan’s governor. This committee oversees the Michigan wheat check-off program.

Jim Doyle’s father Roland M. (Mike) Doyle, who died in 2003, was a longtime executive at King Milling and was a past president of the IAOM.
