Brazil’s Masterboi receives approval to export meat to Morocco

MOROCCO – Masterboi has announced that its refrigeration and industrial units in Canhotinho (Pernambuco), Nova Olinda (Tocantins), and São Geraldo do Araguaia (Pará) have been approved to export beef to Morocco.

This certification allows the company to expand its international footprint, adding Morocco to its list of export destinations.

Masterboi currently supplies beef to more than 110 countries, positioning itself as a key player in the global meat trade.

The company has emphasized that each new market approval reflects the safety and quality of its products.

Masterboi specializes in meat processing, offering a variety of products, including sausages, cold cuts, and frozen meats, with beef being its primary focus.

The company distributes its products to several markets and integrates sustainability efforts into its supply chain.

In 2024, Masterboi was among 23 meatpacking companies in Brazil that halted deliveries to Carrefour Brasil in response to a statement by Carrefour’s global CEO, Alexandre Bompard.

Bompard had raised concerns about an anticipated increase in South American meat imports into France due to a trade deal between the European Union and Mercosur.

The boycott impacted over 150 Carrefour stores in Brazil, disrupting supply for customers who depended on the retailer for meat products.

However, following the publication of a retraction letter signed by Bompard, Masterboi and other meat processors resumed supplying meat to Carrefour Brasil.

The company confirmed that the letter was sufficient for it to restore business relations with the supermarket chain.

“Yes, the retraction is enough. With the letter published now by the CEO of Carrefour, apologizing, Masterboi is returning to supply the network today,” the company stated.

Masterboi continues to expand its reach in international markets while maintaining its presence in Brazil’s domestic meat industry.
