Brenntag appoints Thomas Reisten as Chief Financial Officer

GERMANY – Brenntag SE, a global leader in chemicals and ingredients distribution, has named Thomas Reisten to its Board of Management as Chief Financial Officer, effective April 1, 2025.

Reisten will oversee various departments, including Accounting, Controlling, Investor Relations, Legal, Shared Services, Tax, Treasury, and Insurance.

His appointment comes as Dr. Kristin Neumann, the current CFO, departs at the conclusion of her contract on March 31, 2025, a decision announced in October 2024.

Reisten’s contract with Brenntag SE will run until March 31, 2028.

Previously, Reisten held the position of Chief Financial Officer and Management Board Member at Vantage Towers AG, a European tower company.

During his tenure at Vantage Towers, he led the company’s separation from Vodafone, facilitated its initial public offering (IPO), and oversaw its acquisition by private equity firms and subsequent delisting.

Reisten has also worked extensively with Vodafone Group, serving in various finance-related management roles across countries such as the UK, Ireland, Romania, Germany, India, and Japan.

He earned his business administration degree from the University of Münster in Germany.

In a statement, Reisten expressed gratitude for the opportunity to join Brenntag SE, emphasizing his eagerness to contribute to the company’s ongoing transformation and growth.

Richard Ridinger, Chairman of Brenntag’s Supervisory Board, described Reisten as an experienced international executive with a strong background in operations, finance, and capital markets.

Ridinger highlighted Reisten’s commercial and strategic expertise, noting its relevance to the company’s future growth and development initiatives.

Brenntag SE CEO Dr. Christian Kohlpaintner welcomed Reisten, citing his intercultural experience and his work in corporate transformations within complex business environments.

Kohlpaintner added that Reisten’s expertise will support Brenntag’s goals for sustainable earnings growth and its business efficiency targets.

Reisten will officially join Brenntag SE’s leadership team in April 2025 as the company looks to strengthen its strategic direction and operational capabilities.
