SWEDEN – Brenntag, the global leader in chemicals and ingredients distribution, has announced the expansion of its distribution agreement with Oterra to now include Sweden, further solidifying their partnership in the Nordics and globally.
Oterra, known as the world’s leading supplier of natural food colors, serves various industry segments such as food and beverage, dietary supplements, and pet food.
Frédéric Monachon, Brenntag Nutrition Business Director for UK, Ireland & Nordic, expressed pride in Brenntag’s appointment as the distributor for Oterra in Sweden.
Brenntag’s local team covers sales, customer service, technical support, and warehousing. They aim to provide customers with innovative formulations and concepts for food and beverage applications utilizing Oterra’s natural and safe coloring solutions.
Enrique Miquel, Global Head of Distribution & Market Partners at Oterra, emphasized the benefits of working with the Brenntag team, anticipating an increase in their reach in the region and the ability to offer more innovative and sustainable food and beverage colors to meet customer requirements and market needs.
He said, “We are confident that our new agreement with Brenntag in Sweden will be highly beneficial for Oterra thanks to the introduction of enhanced solutions to the food and beverage industry – we look forward to seeing the results of this collaboration materialize.”
Brenntag, headquartered in Essen, Germany, is renowned for its role in connecting customers and suppliers in the chemical industry.
With over 17,700 employees worldwide and a network of approximately 600 sites in 72 countries, Brenntag generated sales of 16.8 billion EUR in 2023.
The company’s two global divisions, Brenntag Essentials and Brenntag Specialties, offer a diverse portfolio of industrial and specialty chemicals and ingredients, tailored application solutions, technical support, regulatory expertise, and digital solutions.
Brenntag expands partnership with Royal Avebe
In addition to its expanded partnership with Oterra, Brenntag recently extended its distribution agreement with Royal Avebe, the world’s largest producer of potato starch and protein.
This expanded partnership now offers Royal Avebe’s products to Brenntag customers in the United Kingdom and Ireland, aligning with Brenntag’s sustainability strategy and the global trend towards more plant-based foods.
Jerzy Jasiński, Global President of Nutrition and President of Brenntag Specialties EMEA, emphasized that Avebe’s product portfolio complements Brenntag’s sustainability strategy and is a significant step forward in their ‘Strategy to Win.’
