KENYA – The leading dairy processing company in East Africa, Brookside Dairy Limited is seeking to hire a General Manager – Production, Production and Technical managers, technical operators and maintenance technicians.

Reporting to Director Manufacturing, the General Manager will provide overall management and co-ordination of the production processes.

He/She will be responsible for design and execution of departmental strategies , systems implementation and maintenance of the same while ensuring the department achieves its targets.

Higher-level studies in management in addition to undergraduate degree (Food Science or Process Engineering) is critical for interested persons, says Brookside in advertisements placed in local daily newspapers in Kenya.

The company is seeking candidates with over 10 years practical experience in a senior management position, preferrably in food and beverage production scenario.

Good management and leadership skills, excellent communication, analytical and trouble shooting skills are required.

Production Managers

Production managers will report to General Manager – Production with responsibilities to manage , on a daily basis, the production of Brookside products by co-ordinating their respective production activities.

Key responsibilities include develop and manage a daily, weekly and monthly production plans in respect to capital, material, utility and human resources.

Critical skills for the job holder include team leadership, good communication and problem solving skills as well as ability to meet planned and agreed targets.

Academic qualifications are: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or Process Engineering, combined with over 8 years working experience in food or beverage industry.

Technical Managers

Reporting to General Manager – Technical, the successful candidate will be responsible for development of maintenance schedules and management of day-to-day activities of the technical department in support of the manufacturing.

Minimum qualifications are: Degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering, proven track record of at least 8 years working experience in a food or beverage processing facility.

Good interpersonnal and leadership skills are also required

Technical operators and Maintenance technicians

Technical operators will report to Technical manager with responsibility to maintain production machines. A Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and at least 2 years of working experience is preferred.

For Maintenance technicians, a minimum Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, minimum 3 years working experience in a dairy or beverage industry is preferred and they will report to Technical Manager.
