USA – Buhler North America has announced that it has acquired PR&D, Inc., a US-based pellet mill and other equipment service company to expand its feed service offerings in the United States.

According to Buhler, the acquisition strengthens its service offerings in the US feed, pet food, grain and oilseed processing markets.

PR&D’s location which serves the North Central U.S. and Central Canadian regions, will become new service center site in Buhler’s customer service network.

All its employees will join the Buhler team and the transaction will not affect normal operations.

Headquartered at Perham, Minnesota, U.S., the company supplies pellet mill parts and services, including die and roll assembly reconditioning, new dies and roll shells and other equipment parts and services.

“This acquisition is all about honoring our promise and doing whatever it takes to help customers operate more effectively on a day-to-day basis, and, again, demonstrates Bühler’s commitment to North American feed, pet food, grain and oilseed processing customers,” said Brian Williams, vice-president of marketing and business development for Bühler North America.

Buhler plans to make future investments in equipment upgrade as well as improved service delivery by leveraging its strong supply chain to drive both efficiencies and reduce costs.

PR&D is set to benefit from Buhler’s deep process expertise, as an OEM equipment manufacturer, to deliver improved operational insights, along with the services provided.

“From its conception, PR&D was built on customer service by supplying quality parts and fast, reliable service,” said PR&D president Jeff Steinke.

“By teaming up with Buhler, we will be able to update equipment, expand offerings to include deeper process expertise, allowing us to take our original mission to the next level.”

Steinke and PR&D vice president Greg Nelson will continue leading the Perham location as members of Buhler team.

The deal strengthens Buhler’s plans to invest in equipment updates and supply chain processes as it looks to become a leading service provider in both milling and feed industries.
