The company is strongly committed to pushing the boundaries of equipment design, processing, and service solutions. Every team member within Bühler’s food divisions is responsible for ensuring the safety of food produced using the company’s technologies.

About the IAFP European Symposium

The IAFP European Symposium is a key event for food safety professionals across Europe. It provides a platform to share the latest advancements and best practices in the field.

Since 2005, it has brought together industry, government, and academia experts for in-depth discussions on critical food safety challenges.

It provides a platform for exchanging knowledge and exploring the latest scientific and technological developments in food safety.

In 2024, the Symposium took place in Geneva, Switzerland. The three-day program comprised seventeen symposia, two roundtables, eight technical sessions, and the Closing Plenary Session. Poster presentations given throughout the meeting totalled 175.

This year’s symposium will be held in Madrid, Spain, from 6 to 8 May. While more sponsorship opportunities are still available for the event, the confirmed sponsors include CATALYSE Horizon EU Project, COPAN, HyServe, KERRY, and Vikan.

As part of the event, an active IAFP Member from Europe will receive the Europe Food Safety Award for dedicated and exceptional contributions to the food safety profession in Europe.

The award encompasses a plaque and €2,500 (US$2831) monetary support – €1,000 (US$1131) honorarium plus €1,500 (US$1697) (maximum) travel and accommodation costs – to attend the IAFP European Symposium on Food Safety, at which the awardee will be recognised.

Key discussions at the event are expected to focus on digital transformation and the role of artificial intelligence in food safety, improved water management strategies, approaches to risk assessment and validation, and emerging research and innovations related to various food safety hazards and products, including alternative proteins.
