SOUTH AFRICA – Bull Brand, a South African canned meat heavyweight, has broadened its ready-to-eat offerings with the introduction of three new mince meals — Bolognaise Mince, Chilli Mince, and Savoury Mince
They join the popular Curried Mince variant launched last year, providing consumers with four convenient options to pair with their preferred starch.
For over six decades, Bull Brand has been synonymous with meaty flavor in South Africa, cementing its position as the leading canned meat product in the country.
Owned by RFG Foods for the past ten years, the brand has maintained its market dominance by continually meeting consumer demand for quality and taste.
The latest expansion comes as many South Africans face tightened budgets, prompting a need for affordable, nutritious, and easy-to-prepare meal options.
Wendy Roman, Bull Brand’s manager, emphasized the practicality of these new products.
“Our new mince variants offer the same great meaty taste in a convenient, ready-to-eat format,” she said.
“They are free from pork, contain no added MSG, are low in fat, and provide a good source of energy and dietary fiber. These meals are versatile, whether eaten on their own or combined with pasta, rice, potatoes, or wraps for a full, satisfying meal.”
Roman noted that the decision to expand the mince range followed the successful launch of the Curried Mince last year. “We recognized a growing need for quick and nutritious meal solutions that don’t compromise on quality or taste,” she explained. “In response, we’ve also given our Meatballs range a fresh new look.”
As financial constraints continue to impact South Africans, Bull Brand’s new offerings aim to deliver value without sacrificing quality.
The suggested retail price for the 400g cans is R32 (US$1.75), making them an affordable choice for individuals and families alike.
Bull Brand remains a beloved household name in South Africa, with a legacy spanning 67 years.
