USA – Bumble Bee Seafoods a California-based company that produces canned tuna, salmon and other seafoods, has appointed Andrew Choe as the new CEO, effective April 1st.
Choe brings over a decade of experience from his previous roles at StarKist, where he served as Senior Vice President of Supply Chain and Operations before becoming CEO.
He departed from StarKist at the end of 2022, having led the company through a price-fixing scandal. Choe most recently served as CEO of SENSEE World, a company specializing in products for the visually impaired.
In his new role at Bumble Bee, Choe expressed excitement about the company’s direction and emphasized his focus on brand growth and building relationships with key stakeholders.
“Bumble Bee is heading in an exciting direction, and I could not be more pleased to join the team at this pivotal moment in time,” Choe said.
“I look forward to unleashing the potential of the company with an immediate focus on continuing to grow the brand and cultivating relationships with our key customers, suppliers, and Bumble Bee employees.”
Jerry Chou, the Chairman of the Bumble Bee Board, expressed confidence in Choe’s leadership, highlighting his industry expertise and people-focused approach.

Choe’s appointment at Bumble Bee marks a significant moment for the company as it aims to navigate market challenges and capitalize on growth opportunities in the seafood industry.
With his proven track record and strategic vision, Choe is poised to lead Bumble Bee towards achieving its goals and strengthening its position in the market.
Meanwhile, Visscher Seafood Group, headquartered in Urk, the Netherlands, has added Arjan Both and Patrice Flanagan to its advisory board.
Both bring extensive experience in retail and consumer distribution from companies like Ahold, Unilever, and Walmart, while Flanagan has over 35 years of experience in the seafood industry, including serving as Vice President at U.S. seafood distribution company Slade Gorton.
Their expertise is expected to guide Visscher Seafood Group in seizing new growth opportunities, particularly in the U.S. market, and expanding its global retail reach and product offerings.
