USA – Calexo, an emerging California-based beverage brand, has launched its first line of sparkling cannabis-infused beverages, providing consumers with an alternative to alcoholic drinks.
According to the brand, the new Calexo beverages are made with all-natural juices, botanicals, and nano-emulsified THC (10mg per 22oz bottle) and will be available in two flavors, Citrus Rose and Cucumber Citrón.
“The first thing people will notice about Calexo is the unique flavor profile, and that’s because it’s not modeled after a pre-existing drink,” says Brandon Andrew, Founder and CEO of Calexo.
“We use all-natural juices and botanicals that complement rather than mask the nano-emulsified cannabis, resulting in an elegant, social drink that delights your taste buds and brings a smile to your mind.”
The products are already available in Los Angeles and will soon expand soon expand statewide in California.
Expansion into the Canadian market
Calexo has also signed a a non-binding letter of intent with Canadian manufactures of cannabinoid-infused beverages and consumer products, Bevcanna to become the exclusive exclusive manufacturing partner for Calexo beverages in Canada.
Under the partnership, BevCanna will leverage its extensive experience in developing and launching beverages in the Canadian market as well as all national sales and distribution efforts related to the joint venture.
The companies revealed that the joint venture will be structured as a profit share joint venture agreement, and the maintenance of exclusivity is subject to mutually agreed-upon forecast milestones being met.
The agreement will be for an initial term of five years with a subsequent five-year renewal option.
In addition to the Canadian manufacturing arrangement, Calexo will also provide BevCanna with access to its current and future US distribution networks for future product launches.
BevCanna unveiled that its current US plans include the upcoming Californian launches of their ready-to-drink and powdered beverage mix products.
