SOUTH AFRICA – Camilla Clerke, the current executive creative director of Ogilvy South Africa, will be relocating from Cape Town to London to take on the prestigious role of Ogilvy’s global creative lead for Unilever.
Clerke, who joined Ogilvy SA as executive creative director in 2021, has been pivotal in the company’s strategic reorganisation and revitalisation efforts in Cape Town.
Vicki Buys, managing director of Ogilvy Cape Town, expressed immense pride in Clerke’s ascent within the global organisation.
“Camilla’s promotion is a testament to her remarkable achievements in South Africa and underscores the high regard for South African talent on the world stage,” Buys commented.
She added, “We’ve been planning this transition with Camilla for some time, and it’s gratifying to finally share the news.”
Buys further acknowledged Clerke’s significant contributions to Ogilvy South Africa and expressed confidence in her success in the new role.

Clerke’s career has spanned various notable agencies, including Metropolitan Republic, HelloComputer, and HelloFCB+. Her work has earned her numerous accolades both domestically and internationally.
In addition to her award-winning creative output, Clerke has served on multiple award juries, most recently judging the Outdoor category at the 2024 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
In 2020, Clerke was also recognized as one of Creativepool’s top 100 Creative Industry Influencers, highlighting her influence and leadership within the creative industry.
