USA – Cargill has inaugurated new, state-of-the-art headquarters for its protein business operations in North America with an investment of US$70 million.

The investment focuses on bringing innovative food solutions to global customers through collaboration, technology and a focus on sustainability while providing expertise in culinary and food sensory experiences.

Cargill said the headquarters connects Cargill’s 800 Wichita-based employees with 28,000 additional colleagues across North America and more than three dozen protein production facilities in the U.S. and Canada.

The 188,000-square-foot building houses outdoor Wi-Fi lounges, game tables, grills,a fire-pit and flexible work spaces with easy access to shopping and culinary experiences in Wichita’s Old Town District.

“We want to help make Wichita the Silicon Valley of protein, bringing together the best minds, innovation and technology in the industry,” said Cargill Protein President Brian Sikes.

“Our customers rely on us to bring insights to the table and anticipate what consumers need and want.

“This building, along with our existing Cargill Innovation Center, creates a destination for customers to tap into our expertise and experience the future of protein.”

Featuring an immersive technology conference room, employees at the facility are able to collaborate easier and faster with their colleagues in global locations.

It also includes a presentation kitchen to connect customers and visitors to food solutions and inspired culinary innovation and a sensory center that allows Cargill and its customers to conduct product research, focus groups and product testing.

Cargill said the facility has the capacity to accommodate 950 employees, with dedicated areas to explore sustainability across the protein supply chain.

Cargill recently named Brian Sikes to lead its global protein and salt businesses.

The company also consolidated food ingredients distribution network in U.S and Canada to six channel partners to optimize customer experience, streamline supply chain and generate sustainable growth.
