TURKEY – Cargill has expanded its RadiPure pea protein solution to the in Middle East, Turkey, Africa (META) & India, a move support plant-based innovations in the region.

According to the US-based global food corporation, RadiPure pea protein offers the solubility and flavor profile that customers need for food application development.

 Those benefits, alongside its emulsifying, viscosifying and gelation properties, make pea protein a good choice for a wide range of applications.

Some of the applications that are a perfect fit include dairy and dairy alternatives, snacks, bakery, plant-based meat alternatives, vegan, and vegetarian solutions.

As more consumers aim to add plant-based foods to their diets, food and beverage manufacturers in the region are hard pressed to respond to evolving marketplace trends.

According to Health Focus International, Eighty-three percent of META customers always/usually choose food or beverages because they are high in protein.

With more consumers turning to plant-based options to diversify their diet with added-nutritional value, agile food and beverage manufacturers are thriving to meet demands.

Data from Innova shows that the number of products launched with high protein and plant-based claims has increased by 31% in the last 5 years.

With demand for plant-based proteins soaring and companies working to get new products to the shelves, Banu Oksun, Cargill Foods META Enrichment Category Leader believes that no individual protein source can solely feed the world.

The RadiPure brand offers a minimum of 80% protein, according to Cargill, and can be combined with other plant-based proteins to deliver a complete protein profile.

“Adding RadiPure® pea protein to our product portfolio gives our customers access to one of the most versatile plant proteins currently available,” Oksun adds.

To support food innovation in META, Cargill recently launched a new state-of-the-art application center and a high-tech ingredient blending production plant in Orhangazi, Turkey that will serve as a regional hub for dairy innovation.

The new developments are a continuation of investment in Turkey which spans over 60 years and is valued at US$530 million.

The company has also expanded its product portfolio to encompass a wide array of food ingredients, including this latest addition of RadiPure® pea protein.
