UK – Carlsberg Britvic, the UK’s largest multi-beverage supplier, has introduced two new flavors of Pepsi Zero Sugar: Strawberries ‘N’ Cream and Cream Soda.
These additions aim to attract younger consumers, particularly Gen Z, to the cola category.
The company notes the increasing demand for flavored cola, a segment experiencing rapid growth, outpacing unflavored cola three times over. This trend is particularly pronounced among Gen Z shoppers.
Pepsi has previously explored various flavor options, including Pepsi Electric and Pepsi MAX Mango, to engage this demographic.
Ben Parker, vice president commercial off-trade at Carlsberg Britvic, stated that the new products target Gen Z flavor preferences and offer retailers opportunities to boost sales. He described the launch as “an exciting and bold step into the indulgence space,” designed with Gen Z consumers in mind.
The treat-inspired flavors are intended to attract shoppers and drive sales in the competitive category. Carlsberg Britvic will support retailers with point-of-sale materials and free case promotions to maximize visibility and consumer interest.
The Pepsi Zero Sugar Treats range will be available in various formats, including 500ml price-marked and plain bottles, multipacks of eight 330ml cans, and a 1.5-litre bottle for the Strawberries ‘N’ Cream flavor.
Carlsberg Britvic was formed in January 2025 through the merger of Carlsberg Marston’s Brewing Company (CMBC) and Britvic’s UK business.
The company combines CMBC’s breweries and logistics network with Britvic’s packaging and production capabilities.
Carlsberg Britvic now manages a diverse portfolio of well-known beverage brands, including Pepsi MAX, 7UP, Tango, Robinsons, J2O, Fruit Shoot, Plenish, and Jimmy’s Iced Coffee.
The launch follows the UK High Court’s approval of Carlsberg’s £3.3 billion (US$4 billion) acquisition of Britvic.
