DENMARK – Carlsberg’s member of Supervisory Board, Nancy Cruickshank has stepped down from the board to take up a new role as Senior Vice President Digital Business Transformation effective 8 May 2018.

Carlsberg said following the announcement, they have initiated a search for new member of the board.

Nancy joined the European brewer’s board in March 2017 in a non-executive capacity.

“It’s with great pleasure that we can announce that Nancy will head up the digital transformation of Carlsberg, which plays an important part in SAIL’22.

We’ve witnessed Nancy’s strong digital capabilities and substantial insights into the opportunities offered by new technology during her tenure on the Supervisory Board, and I’m confident that she’ll be instrumental in driving our digital transformation,” said CEO Cees ‘t Hart.

Chairman of the Supervisory Board Flemming Besenbacher said, “I’d like to thank Nancy for her dedicated work on the Supervisory Board. I’m confident she’ll be of even greater value to Carlsberg in her new and important role.”

In its full year 2017 results, Carlsberg’s organic sales rose 1% and total beer volumes dropped 3%, impacted by legislation introduced at the start of the year to take big PET packs out of the market in Russia.

In Western Europe, healthier consumption trends helped alcohol-free sales rise 15% characterized by high beer volumes but this market trend may be unpredictable following a share struggle with global giants AB-InBev and Heineken.
