Carrington Farms acquires Tera’s whey organic whey protein brand

USA – Carrington Tea Co. LLC DBA Carrington Farms, in a way to expand its organic whey protein offering, has announced that it has acquired the whey protein brand, tera’swhey.

Tera’swhey specializes in USDA certified organic whey protein supplements including organic whey, hormone free, goat whey, protein blends and ready-to-drink protein beverages.

According to Carrington, the deal further expands its health and wellness category that seeks to address the changing consumer tastes and preferences.

Tera’swhey products, Clean, healthy whey protein sourced from small dairy farms & artisan cheese makers in Wisconsin complements Carrington’s ‘Simple. Clean. Real’ philosophy for its natural products.

With the acquisition, Carrington will be able to provide customers with protein powders, while giving access to supplement purchasing customers and channels though innovation in the protein powder set.

He added that a combination that results from tera’s core values with Carrington’s brought them greater growth prospective and an opportunity to propel tera’s forward.

Carrington seems to be eying protein powders industry which reached US$855 million in sales and is growing +3.9% according to 2017 SPINS data, an indication for an increasing use of not only organic but natural protein in the US.
